Building Integrated PV System for the Regional Surf Life Saving & Multi-Purpose Community Facility, Coogee Beach:
Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club Inc.
The Coogee Beach Surf Life Saving Club Inc. will install a building integrated, grid connected photovoltaic (solar) power system into the new Regional Surf Life Saving & Multi-Purpose Community Facility at Coogee Beach. The project will demonstrate glass to glass modules architecturally integrated into the building’s structure. It will also include an educational display showing the performance of the system.

Energy Future Albany:
Albany Community Environment Centre
Volunteers from the Albany Community Environment Centre will be trained to deliver public presentations to local residents on ways to save energy around the home, as well as undertake home energy audits. The home energy audits will be offered free of charge to health care cardholders and at a subsidised price to income earners. ‘Do-It-Yourself Home Energy Audit’ kits will also be available for loan for a two-week period from the local library.

Green Light Schools Fundraiser:
City of Gosnells
The City of Gosnells will coordinate the Green Light Schools Fundraiser, which will provide information and materials to encourage students and their families to save energy. The project includes the distribution of 5,000 energy saving light globes at a subsidised price to families in schools across six local government areas in Perth’s south east region. Families will be offered three energy saving light globes for a total of $10, with schools keeping 50% of the sale proceeds to contribute towards other sustainable energy related projects.

Footprints:
City of South Perth
The City of South Perth Footprints program will provide a series of educational workshops for reducing energy use. South Perth students, in association with Millennium Kids, will create an art installation that draws on solar and wind energy, which will then be exhibited at the Mends Street Carnivale.

Household Energy Consumption Model:
EMET Consultants Pty Ltd
EMET Consultants will develop a household energy consumption model that will provide information on energy consumption in typical Western Australian homes. The research will indicate how much energy is used in homes, what type of energy is used and for what purposes.

Perth Sun Fair 2008:
Alternative Technology Association / University of Western Australia
The Alternative Technology Association and the University of Western Australia will hold the Perth Sun Fair in April 2008. The fair is aimed at the general public and will display information and technologies related to renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable living.

Retrofitting Perth Homes for Energy and Greenhouse Savings:
Green Skills Inc.
Green Skills Inc. will run five community workshops and an open day for householders to learn how to retrofit their homes to reduce their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. Participants will then be surveyed to determine the level and type of retrofitting changes made as a result of the workshops.
